Dr. Isabelle Lanser (she/her)
I am a licensed clinical psychologist in California (PSY 34413). I work with a broad range of mental health conditions, and my specialties are life stress/transitions, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, cannabis use disorders, and perinatal mental health. Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I help clients discover actionable insights leading to long-lasting change.
I received my B.A. from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and my M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). Throughout graduate school, I trained extensively in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic therapy at the UCLA Psychology Clinic and the UCLA Screening and Treatment for Anxiety & Depression (STAND) Clinic. I completed my APA-accredited predoctoral internship at UCLA Counseling and Psychological Services where I specialized in short-term, evidence-based treatments for students with unipolar and bipolar depression, anxiety, eating disorders, grief/loss, cannabis use disorder, and traumatic disorders. I completed my postdoctoral training at the UCLA Anxiety and Depression Research Center and worked as a clinician under the supervision of Dr. Danielle Keenan-Miller to further develop my expertise in treating eating disorders and unipolar and bipolar depression. Through my work on the UCLA Depression Grand Challenge Perinatal Depression research study, I developed an expertise in reproductive mental health and perinatal and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders.
I have conducted and published research on loneliness in young adults and am currently working with the UCLA Depression Grand Challenge to improve how we study and treat depressive disorders. Additionally, I am a firm believer in integrating the latest advances in research throughout my clinical practice and have recently published in the fields of cannabis use disorder treatment and mindfulness-based approaches to stress and depressive symptoms in adolescents.
My Approach
I strive to create a safe and supportive environment that celebrates and respects all identities and backgrounds. I believe that through authenticity, openness, and compassion, we can work together to face life's challenges and embrace its endless possibilities.
