Dr. Miral Malik, PsyD

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Los Angeles with expertise in trauma (including intergenerational trauma, relational and cultural trauma), eating disorders, navigating complex family dynamics, life transitions and identity development. I integrate evidence-based therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with a relational, insight-oriented approach. I specialize in helping clients build insight into how early experiences and relational patterns show up in their present lives, while developing greater emotional flexibility, self-compassion, stronger relationships and a clearer sense of their own values to create a more intentional and fulfilling life. I have a deeply personal understanding of what it means to exist between worlds, navigating questions of identity, belonging, and how we carry our histories with us. I am committed to providing care that is affirming, inclusive, and responsive to the full complexity of your background, identity, and lived experience. I also offer in-person and virtual ADHD assessments for adults looking for diagnostic clarification.

I received my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at George Washington University. I completed my APA-accredited internship and postdoctoral fellowship at UCLA Counseling & Psychological Services, where I provided short-term, evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and ACT for depression, anxiety, eating disorders, grief and loss, and traumatic stress. Throughout my graduate training, I developed and facilitated community outreach programs focused on body image, eating disorders, and demystifying the therapy process. This continues to inform my work in making therapy feel accessible, collaborative, and transparent.
